About Chai Dog Books
Chai is not your average dog. He has a lot of ordinary things going on in his world, but sometimes he sees them a bit differently, and quite often weird events or characters just seem to come his way. See how he tackles them in his ongoing adventures. Chai Dog Books are written to be shared and Chai often breaks the 'fourth wall' of storytelling by asking the reader for advice or filling them in on a secret detail. Sometimes silly, sometimes offbeat, but always ready to tackle any situation that comes his way.

Authors Notes
Sharing stories is a great way to bring children, parents, grandparents, uncles, and aunts together. Picture books with a mix of entry-level words and more challenging words and phrases keep a book interesting for both the reader and the listener and enjoyment by both parties encourages early readers to want to join in with the decoding fun. Chai Dog stories are grounded enough in everyday life to allow readers to relate to Chai's experiences, but they have a sprinkling of the unusual or unbelievable to engage young minds. Chai's adventures are based loosely on real-life antics and foibles of my own fur baby Chai, who is a six-year-old chihuahua poodle cross, with some whimsical fictional experiences thrown in for good measure. If these books help to encourage your child's reading enthusiasm and skills while having a laugh or 'What the' moment, they will have done their job.

A word about levels
This read out loud picture book can be shared with children from prior to Preschool to around the 3rd grade with variations in the level of support and independence each individual child will need or have.
