The short narrative, or afsaana, is one of the most significant literary subgenres in Urdu literature despite its comparatively recent inception. This book by Saadat Hasan Manto 'Aatish Paarey' features a selection of his short stories and he wrote that these stories are suppressed sparks, it is the job of the readers to turn them into flames.
