The 120 selected items for inclusion in the volume span a period of over 3500 years, ranging from oracle bones of the Shang dynasty (ca. 1675-1029 BC) to contemporary manuscripts. Notable titles include the Yuan dynasty's (1271-1368) Yi benyi fulu zuanshu (Original Meaning of the Book of Changes with Commentaries) and Tripitaka Koreana, the earliest complete Korean edition of the Chinese Buddhist canon, Da zang jing, in existence. |
