Nathan Road is the main thoroughfare in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Running in a south-north direction from Tsim Sha Tsui to Mong Kok district, Nathan Road is lined with landmark buildings such as Peninsula Hotel, Chungking Mansions, Kowloon Park, Islamic Centre connecting the locale districts. Known to locals and tourists as a must-go local fare, its amalgamation of shops, restaurants, advertising billboards, shop signages, and transportation exchanges points with its continuous flow of traffic and people, forms an energetic street scene. Nathan Road, as hustle & bustle as it is, stages an on-going changing scene that one can’t resist revisiting occasionally before a new shop, a new advertising billboard or even a new building replacing the present.
In 2005, Kenneth spent hours waiting for the lowest traffic moments, capturing every other building blocks and shop fronts on Nathan Road, and have produced this photographic book which he later made entries into Epson Color Imaging Contest. His work won the champion prize in Photograph Category (the Hong Kong judge panel), and a Honorable Mention with the judge panel in Japan.
