商品簡介 |
This volume is a collection of selected papers presented at the “International Conference on Dubbing and Subtitling in a World Context” organized by the Department of Translation of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in October 2001. The papers are written by scholars and professionals from Asia and Europe, and cover an array of topics related to subtitling and dubbing, from the historical background to the technical aspects in the production of subtitles for films and TV programmes.
There is a growing globalization of the film industry which creates a huge demand for the professional service of dubbing and subtitling. This book looks at dubbing and subtitling from a world perspective, and is a must-read for anyone who wants to have a deeper understanding of the history and theory of subtitling.
