商品簡介 |
WHAT'S SALMONELLA? "Salmonella" is what we usually call it when you get sick with diarrhea and belly pains from Salmonella microorganisms (gastroenteritis). It's the most common form of bacterial food poisoning inside the U.S. It's also known as salmonellosis, to tell it apart from different ailments you may get from distinct varieties of Salmonella bacteria, like typhoid fever. WHAT'S TYPHOID FEVER? Typhoid fever is an infection due to the bacterium Salmonella typhimurium (S. typhimurium). It infects your small intestine (intestine) and causes excessive fever, belly ache, and other signs and symptoms. Typhoid fever is likewise referred to as "enteric fever." You'll generally pay attention to paratyphoid fever cited at the side of typhoid. Paratyphoid fever is similar to typhoid with extra-mild signs. It's caused by Salmonella paratyphi (S. paratyphi). S. typhi and S. paratyphi are more extraordinary than the Salmonella bacteria that cause salmonellosis, a not unusual type of food poisoning. WHO DOES TYPHOID FEVER AFFECT? Typhoid fever is most common in rural regions of developing countries where there isn't contemporary sanitation. Countries in South and Southeast Asia, principally South America, Africa, and the Caribbean, are most tormented by typhoid. Tourists are most at risk when traveling to Pakistan, India, or Bangladesh. Children are more likely to get typhoid than adults. HOW COMMON IS TYPHOID FEVER? It's envisioned that 11 million to 21 million human beings around the world get typhoid each year. It's uncommon in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Western Europe, and Australia. WHAT'S A LONG-TERM PROVIDER OF TYPHOID FEVER? Some people remain contagious with typhoid fever even after they've recovered (long-time period provider). You may spread typhoid for a year or longer without signs. It's important to get tested for S. typhimurium once you feel better to make sure you can't spread it to different people. What's the distinction between typhoid and typhus? Even though the names sound the same, typhoid and typhus are special ailments resulting from one-of-a-kind microorganisms. The symptoms are comparable-so much so that doctors used to assume they were the same illness. |
